Block Island Beauty {Saylor 14}

For the last few years we have spent a few weeks in July on Block Island a 7 mile wide island off the coast of Rhode Island. The landscape and beaches are just so beautiful with miles of preserve land to wander.  I  have been photographing my kids on the island since they were little. One time we got caught in a crazy storm, in the middle of our session the clouds quickly rolled in and the rain poured out upon us.  We left the beach soaked but by the time we got back to our house 3 miles down the road the sun was back out.   I  had so much fun styling this session for my daughter Saylor {14}.  The flowers were made on Island by La Bella Rose. The horse was borrowed from a local riding stable. The VW Bug was a wedding gift from my husband. We got married on the Island 17 years ago and had our reception at the Spring House Hotel,  Its red roof and Victorian charm are well known, if you get the time make sure you get a chance to sit out on their adirondack chairs for sunset.  I have to give one more shout out to the National Hotel our favorite place to sit and relax and socialize with friends, not to mention they have great food.   Today is March 28th and it’s Saylor’s 15th birthday, she is my spirited child always up to something with an amazing zest for life.  She grew into a pretty young lady right before my eyes.   I look forward to sharing all the adventures she will have in her life, she brings our family lots of laughter and smiles.  Happy Birthday to my first born! I look forward to spending time with you on Block Island this summer.  Reach for the Stars kiddo…
