I graduated with a BA in Photography with the dreams of
being a sports photographer; I thought it would be
great to get front-row seats to all the best games.
I did get a great job in sports photography, but then I fell in love & married a great guy. Next thing you know our first daughter, Saylor, was born in 2000. Little did I know my love for children's photography would bloom. Eleven months later my second daughter, Emery, was born and I Launched Stacy Murphy Photography.
A few years later we adopted our son, Grady, and that's when I figured it was time to hang the camera up for a few years just to be a mom-- the job I still love first. Don't get me wrong, I would like a two-week vacation every year from that job, but the only benefits it comes with are hugs and kisses!!!
Well, fast forward to September 2010 when my son entered Kindergarden. I knew right away I needed to get back to my second love, photography, so I decided it was time to pick back up that camera and relaunch SMP photography.
I love this job.
Mom to three cool kids
Wife to a my best friend of 13 years
Daughter to a crazy Irishman
Auntie to 2 charming nieces
What I Love:
Going out with friends
Snow days
Block Island
A beach with an umbrella drink
Good wine and even better food that I haven't cooked.
and, of course, photography
Thanks for visiting, Stacy
I came to Boston from Long Island for college, with the plan of spending 4 years here and returning home to my family. My junior year I met my husband, and it must have been love, as here I am 21 years later braving the cold New England winters.
After graduating, I spent 10 years in advertising, then took time off to be a stay-at-home mom. While raising the kids, I've continued some freelance work and always seem to have my hand in this project or that. I have a love for anything creative, and especially love photography, interior design, and scrapbooking (please, don't ask me when I had the time to work on it lately, as my youngest daughter is still hounding me to finish her baby book!).
When my second daughter was born, I saw one of Stacy's ads in the local paper and fell in love with her photography. I became a client, then became an employee, but best of all found a great, loyal, crazy, adventurous friend. And, as they say, the rest is history.
Don't ask what my job title is...runs the gamut from marketer to office manager to photographer's assistant to photo processor. What I like best is working with Stacy to stage the shoots with an eye for detail to ensure we get the best results possible. How lucky am I to have a job that's so much fun?!!
